Apps for architects

Smartphone Apps have become one of the most important tools in our work day. These are generally not developed for specific industries, but for the wider population. An example of this issue is the pocket calculator from Apple, that does not quite reach all of the requirements for an architect. Some important functions are missing in the simple mode (portrait) and there are too many complicated functions in the scientific mode (landscape). This is an issue generally but also specifically for smaller smartphones, because the buttons are too small for easy usage of the calculator.
This is why we (Arch-Forum) have decided to develop specific architectural apps that will be useful for every architect.
The minimal slope of a (corrugated) metal roof is for example, 3°. Planners and construction managers could be prosecuted for all damages, if the slope of the roof falls below this value. But how can you control a value of 3° on a building site? With a spirit level and a tape measure, it is relatively easy to calculate the percent of the slope, but how can this percent be reverse calculated to degrees?
The architecture calculator, Arch-Calc, is the first app developed by us at Arch-Forum, in an effort to create an array of useful architectural tools. We are relying on your honest feedback to improve the functionality and the usage of the app. Please contact us, if you have any ideas for improvements, or for new apps. We love five stars!
